Vicenza, 17th March 2022 – Vicenzaoro 2022 – The Jewellery Boutique Show, IEG – Italian Exhibition Group’s international exhibition for the gold and jewellery sector, opened today with a tribute to Ukraine. With more than 1,000 exhibiting brands and 300 buyers hosted from 50 countries around the world, the event is the mirror of a sector that sees excellent results when compared to the pre-pandemic period. According to estimates processed for FEDERORAFI by Confindustria Moda’s Study Centre, in 2021 Italian exports totalled over 8 billion euros up more than +15% on 2019, a double-digit growth on 2019 for the United States and United Arab Emirates and a non-EU export figure of 75%. In view of the international context having changed due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the Study Centre highlights the relative impact of the two countries on the Italian market, with a total export figure of 1%.
The event inaugurated this morning in Vicenza is a proven privileged networking place for sector operators, allowing them to re-start from beauty and open a new season in the name of business and continuous innovation.
The opening ceremony was attended by Lorenzo Cagnoni, President of Italian Exhibition Group, Francesco Rucco, Mayor of Vicenza, Maria Cristina Franco, Vice President of the Province of Vicenza, Lorenzo Quinn, artist and sculptor, Claudia Piaserico, President of Federorafi, representing all the national associations in the jewellery sector, Roberto Marcato, Veneto Regional Councillor for Economic Development, and Carlo Maria Ferro, President of ITA – Italian Trade Agency (statements attached).
Exhibitors at Vicenzaoro include big names in jewellery, such as Roberto Coin, Damiani Group, Fope, Annamaria Cammilli, Crivelli, Leo Pizzo, Fabergé, Alessio Boschi, Schreiner, Yoko London and Akillis, which have brought to the Show true masterpieces of jewellery manufacturing, able to amaze visitors with the preciousness of the metals and selected stones. Incredible pieces, unimaginable sparkle and purity. The latest trends can be found among the stands: a blaze of the brightest colours, often fluorescent with the desire to joke and “be part of the game”, the affirmation of asymmetry with mono earrings, multi-strand necklaces with pendants that propose the most dedicated customizations with amulets, initials and geometric symbols. There is no shortage of jewellery that pays homage to green, not only because it draws inspiration from floral, animal and natural themes in general, but also because it is made from sustainable, recycled and/or traced materials. The predominant colour is azure blue, reflecting the pantone 2022 Very Peri, with its periwinkle blue hues and red undertones. Seduction and elegance in the long necklaces made of chain or
sporting elements such as pendants or stones that enhance the body of the wearer, or the kissing bracelets, soft and thin chains that gently transform into rings.
Leaders in the field of machinery are also attending the show, returning together with T.Gold, the international exhibition for advanced technologies for jewellery design and production processes, as well as the most eminent representatives of the world of watchmaking, who will be bringing their most exclusive pieces to VO’ Clock Privè, the contemporary watchmaking event, which starts tomorrow, 18th March, ends on Sunday, 20th March, and will be open to the public of enthusiasts over the weekend.
The new entry at this edition of Vicenzaoro is the first blockchain for corals and cameos. An important goal for the entire production chain of Torre del Greco, thanks to new and unique, worldwide guarantee certification that identifies every jewel and / or semi-finished coral or cameo produced in Torre del Greco. This news was announced in the afternoon by Assocoral and ITA, with the intervention of Steven Tranquilli, Director of Federpreziosi Confcommercio Imprese per l’Italia. Not only a distinctive sign, but above all, the result of an affirmation and positioning strategy that looks to the future under the banner of love and professionalism, using highly technological structures such as blockchains that can guarantee the integrity and persistence of the data entered into the system. A years-long choral work, which stems from the awareness of the tradition and bi-centennial history of coral and cameo processing in Torre del Greco as well as an enormous desire to emerge with common goals.
The early morning already saw the event welcoming a large public, all eager to do business, who will, as of today, Thursday 17th March, until Monday 21st March, be able to stroll through the halls in complete safety, thanks to the application of the #SAFEBUSINESS by IEG protocol and the Expo Centre’s GBAC STAR™ accreditation.
