A distinguished delegation from the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), renowned as Russia’s largest republic and a key global supplier of rough diamonds, recently visited Jaipur to explore potential partnerships in the gems and jewellery sector. The meeting, organized by the Industries Department of the Government of Rajasthan, took place with the support of the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).
The session was facilitated by Ms. Sonia Sangari, Director General of the Department of Industries, and featured key figures including Mr. Yogendra Garg, Regional Chairman of GJEPC, Mr. Nitin Khandelwal, Regional Director of GJEPC, and Mr. Navneet Agarwal, Assistant Director of the World Trade Centre in Jaipur.
The discussions revolved around fostering a collaboration between the Sakha Republic and Jaipur, specifically capitalizing on Jaipur’s global expertise in coloured gemstones and Yakutia’s prominence in the rough diamond market. The Government of Rajasthan pledged its full support to GJEPC to enhance these efforts and promote mutual growth in the industry.
The delegation was led by Mr. Kim Borisov, Deputy Chairman of the Sakha Republic and Permanent Representative in the Far East Federal District, along with Mr. Gavril Kirillin, the Minister for External Relations and Ethnic Affairs of Yakutia. The visit marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties and expanding opportunities for both regions in the global gems and jewellery market.
