Award-winning jewelry designer Alex Woo has died of cancer, aged 47.
She was best known for her Little Icons brand of personalized premium fine jewelry charms, made of silver and gold, which were sold at department and fine jewelry stores throughout the U.S.
The New York-based designer and entrepreneur also produced all the jewelry for Major League Baseball, and was named one of Crain’s New York Business’ 40 under 40.
Her husband, Ed Huang, paid tribute, following her death at home on 30 March. He said: “Alexandra was a doting mother, wife, daughter and businesswoman, and her impact on the jewelry industry will never be forgotten.
“Over an illustrious 20 years, she told countless stories through her designs, and they quickly became an extension of who she was.”
