Italian designer Nanis brought home the top accolade under the fine jewellery category of Inhorgenta Award 2018 for its innovative “Transformista” gold bracelet.
The bracelet, an elegant combination of gold and diamonds, won for its convertible design: The piece easily transforms into a classic curb link necklace with only a few flicks of the wrist.
Under the new Inhorgenta Award category “Smart & Connected Watch,” the jury chose the “Connected Modular” timepiece of Swiss manufacturer TAG Heuer due to its sober black design and functionality, which allows the user to upload a city map to the watch screen, for instance.
Jaime Moreno, winner of the seventh category, “Best Piece of Jewelry,” was chosen by the audience.
The seven-member jury of the second Inhorgenta Award was composed of top model Franziska Knuppe, journalist and former editor-in-chief of German magazine Bunte, Patricia Riekel, watch expert Gisbert L. Brunner, and designer and professor Christine Lüdeke. Furthermore, actress and designer Barbara Becker, designer Markus Hilzinger, as well as Anja Heiden, member of the Management Board of Wempe, contributed their expertise, and votes for the winners of the six categories.
Klaus Dittrich, chairman and CEO of Messe München, commented, “We are particularly glad about the great number of international submissions. These are far more countries than in the previous year, which proves that we have touched a nerve by the Award. Our jury was fervently impressed by the pieces submitted.”
