JAS 2016 – Jewellers Association Show – Jaipur

JAS-16 receives international acclamation and appreciation

• JAS-17 from 1^st-4^th September, 2017

Begun in 2007 with the vision of developing and promoting Gemstone and Jewellery trade Show in Jaipur to boost the Gemstone and Jewellery trade, the 10^th Jewellers Association Show JAS-16 was organized in Jaipur’s Sitapura Industrial Area situated JECC Campus. The show was widely acclaimed and appreciated on the international level.

The 4 day event organized from 20^th to 23^rd August displaying some the finest and creative Gemstone, Jewellery and Rough stones was inaugurated by CM of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje. Central Minister of State for Finance & Corporate affiars Arjun Ram Meghwal, Industry Minister of Rajasthan Gajendra Singh Khemsar, Jaipur MP Ram Charan Bohra, Jaipur Mayor Nirmal Nahata, MLA Kailash Verma, GJEPC Chairman Praveen Shankar Pandya and Joint Secreatry of Commerce, GOI Manoj Dwivedi were the Guests of honor for the inaugural ceremony of the show.

CM Raje in her inaugural address signaled favorable initiatives from the government on the issue of establishing the proposed Gem Bourse in Jaipur. Central Minister Meghwal also assured that industries like Gemstone and Jewellery that creates employment opportunities at mass scale will be taken care of in the proposed GST. The final winners of the JAS Jewellery Design Competition organized in association with GIA were also awarded in the ceremony. The Jury for the competition comprising of eminent Jewellers Dr. Nawal Agarwal from Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers, Sudhir Kasliwal from Gem Plaza, FICCI FLO ex National President Neeta Bochra and Rajeev Arora from Amrapali Jewellers were also honored. The organizing representative from Jewellers Association Pramod Darda and GIA Director Nirupa Bhatt were appreciated for their efforts. The “Show Guide JAS-16” and the Prime Edition of the Official Publication of the Jewellers Association “Gem World” were also unveiled by the guests during the inaugural event. The CM and the other guests visited the complete show post the inauguration.

BRICS women Parliamentarian and VIP’s visited JAS-16

The women parliamentarian’s from the BRICS nations including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa who were in city for an international conference also visited JAS-16 on the third day of the event. The parliamentarian’s spent quality time in the show and were deeply elated with the exhibits at various stalls. Apart from them Central Minister of state for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh  Rathore, State Legislative assembly deputy speaker Rao Rajendra Singh, Senior IAS Sanjay Dixit and numerous business personalities from the country and abroad also witnessed the event.

Encouraging and Exclusive Show

Speaking on the success of JAS-16, Convener Sanjay Kala said JAS-1 has infused a new energy in the Gemstone and Jewellery trade and trend. More than 30,000 visitors attended JAS-16 including International and national institutional buyers, Foreign, NRI and domestic manufacturers and traders and retails buyers. The participants not only received numerous B-2-B leads but also had significant retail sale of Jewellery and Gemstone items thus making the show a grand success.

An informative seminar on the subject “Future of Jewellery – Design or Investment” was also conducted during JAS-16. The panelist discussed their opinion and vision about the future of the Jewellery sector. The key point of discussion was whether Jewellery will be considered a piece of art or will it be bought as an investment option.

Wonderful depiction of the theme – “Tradition Meets the Contemporary”

The creativity and the craft displayed in various Gemstone and Jewellery products and designs at JAS-16 were a true reflection of the theme of the show – “Tradition Meets the Contemporary”. Even the complete exhibition area spread across 1 lac square feet was also designed in synchronization with the theme having the most modern amenities along with the replica of “Kesar Kyari – Amer”.

Entertainment for the participants and visitors

The MTV RockOn and Sunsilk Gang of Girls fame Abhinanda Sarkar performed in a musical evening organized for the participants and the trade visitors during JAS-16. A fashion show was also organized as a part of JAS-16 in which sizzling models walked the ramp wearing some of the most amazing Jewellery pieces.

The Jewellers Association President Nirmal Bardiya acknowledged hard work and commitment of the complete organizing team. Bardiya said, the successful organization of JAS-16 is credited to the Convener Sanjay Kala who also took the responsibility for all Printing, Spokesperson and Event & fashion Show. JAS-17 from 1^st to 4^th September, 2017

The dates for the 11^th Jewellers Association Show JAS-17 was declared in the closing ceremony of the show organized on the last day. JAS-17 has been scheduled to be organized from 1^st to 4^th September, 2017. All the sponsors and service providers were also awarded for their support and efforts.
