ICA China MoU

The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) and the Guangdong Gems & Jade Exchange (GDGJE) have signed a strategic cooperation MOU.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two organisations will aim to jointly build a platform for the promotion of coloured gemstones in China and the world, and to facilitate the international exchange and trade of coloured gemstones.

While ICA, a non-profit organization, is the only worldwide body specifically created to benefit the global colored gemstone industry, Guangdong Gems & Jade Exchange (GDGJE) is a state-owned comprehensive trading platform for gems and jade transactions, jointly established by industry players and approved by the Guangdong Provincial Government.

The MoU was signed by GDGJE’s general Manager, Li Zhiwei, and ICA’s president, Clement Sabbagh during the recent HK International Diamond Gem & Pearl Show (HKIDGPS).

Also present on the occasion were Chen Jie, director of the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Committee, Zhang Liping, deputy inspector of the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Committee, Wilson Yuen, past president of ICA, and Benjamin Hackman, immediate past president of ICA.
