Harry Potter jewellery launch conjures media frenzy

Alex and Ani has launched a Harry Potter collection which has spelled big publicity for the US jewellery brand just weeks after the opening its first UK store.

Headlines in consumer press include, “This new Harry Potter jewellery line can just take all my money now, thanks” (Cosmo); “Harry Potter fans just got the grown-up jewellery collection of their dreams” (The Daily Dot); and “Alex & Ani just released a Harry Potter collection and I need every single thing” (Seventeen).

On social media, consumers have been posting nothing but excitement for the collection, with many taking to online platforms to share with followers that they want every single piece in the collection, while others on Facebook have been fractionally tagging friends in the comments section of the brand’s launch post in order to share the news.

The spellbinding new Alex and Ani range has been created in partnership with Warner Bros, and has been crafted in recycled materials.

In total the collection features 11-pieces, including necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings, adorned with symbols with nod to the popular Harry Potter series.

Motifs include Deathly Hallows, Harry Potter glasses, lightning strikes and the Hogwarts logo.

While the brand is still working on its UK site, the capsule collection is available in its Bluewater store, and with selected stockists nationwide, including T H Baker.
