The 13th international conference on gold and diamonds is being held by Initiatives in Art and Culture (IAC) in New York.
The two-and-a-half day event focuses on maintaining purpose – what constitutes luxury in an age of responsible practice.
Industry leaders, jewelers and innovators will discuss issues around sustainability and the realization of artistic vision.
The conference, with collaboration from the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO), features new technologies for extraction and sourcing, new mine-to-market models, and new approaches to training, and the evolution of environmental and climate challenges.
Lisa Koenigsberg, IAC president said 2030 and 2050 seemed far off when were set as target dates for achieving transformational goals in sustainability, but that future was now.
The conference is from 17 to 19 July at Bohemian National Hall, in the Upper East Side.
