During a recent visit to the Sarafa Association Amritsar, the GJEPC expressed its commitment to supporting the association’s members in their export endeavours. The meeting, held on 18th October, focused on exploring opportunities for cluster development and addressing the concerns of the association’s members. GJEPC discussed strategies to help members enter the export market, including preliminary guidelines and the process of starting exports through hand-carry shipments.
The association members expressed a keen interest in visiting jewellery shows in the Middle Eastern countries to gain a better understanding of the market. Another key issue raised was the delay in jewellery parcel shipment examinations at the Amritsar port. The GJEPC assured the association that this matter was being addressed and that efforts were underway to expedite the process.
Several association members also indicated their interest in participating as exhibitors in the upcoming IIJS Premiere 2025 and expressed their intention to register as GJEPC members. The meeting concluded on a positive note with the GJEPC pledging its support to help the Amritsar jewelry cluster start exports from the Amritsar port.
