The Jaipur Regional Office of The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) organised a workshop in the city for its members on” Selling jewellery globally through E-commerce”. The programme was held in association with Amazon.
Welcoming the participants at the inauguration of the workshop, GJEPC Jaipur Regional Chairman Nirmal Kumar Bardiya emphasised the importance of embracing new technologies and methods of reaching out to customers.
Representatives from Amazon’s global selling team then briefed those present on how to sell jewellery through E-commerce on their website. The panel included Parthiv Shah – Head, Jewelry Category, Global Sales (Amazon India), Prateek Gupta – Business Development Manager, Jewelry Category, Global Sales (Amazon India) and Chinmay Kothekar – Business Development Manager, Jewelry Category, Global Sales (Amazon India). Shah gave a detailed presentation on the offerings available from the E-commerce giant.
Also present were officials from logistics providers such as Brinks and Pick my Box, as well as tax and accounting consultants, and others.
Following the presentation, the Amazon team and the consultants answered various queries from those present relating to sending jewellery consignments, packing, preparation of documentation, taxation, and accounting related issues, etc.
