GIA (Gemological Institute of America) will include the branded name of a proprietary diamond cut with details of the diamond shape and cutting style description under its newly launched Proprietary Cut Programme for diamonds with branded cut names, the laboratory said in a statement this week.
Clients that would like to participate in this program will be required to provide supporting documentation, including diamond facet arrangement, GIA said. Only those who have completed the documentation will be able to submit diamonds for grading under this programme, it added.
Clariying that this enhancement to diamond grading report services is offered at no additional charge, GIA said that those desiring to participate should contact their client services representative.
