Exceptional sapphires to topbill Christie’s HK auction

A stunning Kashmir sapphire necklace with diamond accents is the star of Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction scheduled for November 27 in Hong Kong. The sale will feature over 260 lots.

The Peacock Necklace, adorned with highly coveted royal blue sapphires, has a pre-sale estimate of HK$95 million to HK$120 million or about US$12 million to US$15 million.

Also leading the season are a 10.04-carat Burmese Pigeon’s Blood ruby and diamond ring; the “Moon Of Baroda,” a 24.04-carat fancy yellow VS2 diamond necklace; and the “Ultimate Mogok Blue Treasure,” which has a Guinness World Records Certification of being the largest cabochon-cut sapphire at 396.89 carats. The Burmese cabochon sapphire and diamond necklace is named Etcetera.
