De Beers Group today announced that the provisional value of rough diamond sales (Global Sightholder Sales and Auctions) for the tenth sales cycle of 2019 was US$ 425 million.
While this marked a slight improvement over the final figure for sales at Cycle 9 of US$ 400 million, it was still way below the US$ 544 million registered at Cycle 10 of the previous year.
Bruce Cleaver, CEO, De Beers Group, said: “Following continued polished diamond price stability in the lead up to the final sales cycle of the year, we saw further signs of steady demand for rough diamonds during Sight 10.”
