Vendors of Bon-Ton Stores are pulling back on shipments, similar to how Toys R Us vendors exercised caution ahead of its recent bankruptcy, according to a report in Bloomberg.
Suppliers to the 260-location department store chain have insisted on getting paid with letters of credit or cash on delivery, said the news agency, quoting unnamed sources.
A spokeswoman told Bloomberg the company maintains constructive relationships with its vendors.
Company CEO Kathryn Bufano stepped down earlier this year. She was replaced by William Tracy, its fourth CEO in five years.
