ALROSA earns $8.6 mln from sales of large diamonds in Israel

ALROSA announces the results of the international auction for special size rough diamonds (weighing over 10.8 carats). The auction was held in Ramat Gan (Israel).

The company sold 116 rough diamonds with a total weight of 1,800 carats. The overall revenue from sales amounted to $8.6 mln. There were participants from Israel, Belgium, India, UAE, Russia, Hong Kong and the US.

“The auction attracted clients from Israel, who traditionally specialize in large rough diamonds. Customers from other countries also participated. In total, there were 121 participants. The sales went well and met our expectations, we sold 75% of the offered volume,” commented Evgeny Agureev, Deputy CEO of ALROSA.

ALROSA, in accordance with Russian legislation, sells large rough diamonds (weighing over 10.8 carats) at international auctions. Every year, the company holds about 30 such auctions in Moscow, Vladivostok, Antwerp, Ramat Gan, Hong Kong, New York and Dubai. In Israel, there are six auctions per year.
