Cooksongold is commemorating 100 years in business in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter with the launch of a new revamped store.
The UK-based jewellery-making supplier, which was first established in 1918, will officially open the doors to its new-look Birmingham retail unit on August 13, as the company bids to help the jewellery industry ‘prosper for many years to come’.
The store has been given a complete refurbishment and now has the facility to display thousands more products, as well as a new workshop area, which will allow customers to try before they buy.
Martin Bach, managing director, Cooksongold says: “We are extremely proud to have been a part of the Jewellery Quarter and the wider trade for the last century, and see this anniversary as the perfect time to offer our brand new store to jewellery industry. As the UK’s largest jewellery making store, we hope that the service we will provide can continue to help the jewellery industry prosper for many more years to come.”
In 1918 Cooksongold established a manufacturing site and sales office on Vittoria Street, to serve both jewellery manufacturers and industrial users in the Midlands area.
Over the next few years the business grew considerably, acquiring the premises next door for use as production areas, stock holdings and a store.
Following a series of further acquisitions the business has expanded further to become the largest jewellery-making supplier in the UK.
