The Indian gems and jewellery sector is among the most competitive in the world, contributing to around 6-7% of the country’s GDP, and accounting for almost USD 42 bn of gross exports in 2016-17. In recognition of the business excellence demonstrated by the businesses that make up this industry, the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the apex body of the sector, is pleased to announce the India Gem & Jewellery Awards 2017 (IGJA 2017).

IGJA 2017 will felicitate industry players for their exemplary performance on key parameters such as growth, export excellence, marketing initiatives, innovation, value additions and investment in R&D, among other attributes, during the year 2016-17. It will also recognise entities supporting the sector such as banks and agencies supplying gold.
