Friday 5: Time for a New Watch

1817

New season, new timepiece

There’s something about the promise of autumn that gets me excited to buy new things. I flash back to the days of grade school, when my mom would take me on a shopping trip that lasted all day long, searching for that cool new wardrobe to kick off the school year. Somehow those purchases always contained something corduroy. Moving on. As an adult, there really isn’t that specific date on the calendar that says ”go to get new clothes and accessories,” is there? Aside from vacations, perhaps, and weddings. Or unless you’re a teacher. But it’s still easy to get caught up in the new fall releases—the stores are hawking their autumn lines already (can you believe it?)—even if you don’t really need anything or have anywhere spectacular to be. Something to go with that new fall wardrobe? A new watch. And wouldn’t you know it, I have some favorites. Below are a selection of watches any collector or newbie would go positively gaga for—this fall, winter, and forever into the future.
