A joint team from the GJEPC and EXIM Bank, Mumbai, visited Agra on 11th December to assess the export potential of the region’s jewellery industry. The visit included meetings with key industry players and stakeholders to understand existing export models and identify challenges.

The team first met with the International Marketing Head of ACPL Agra to gain insights into their export business model and the obstacles they face. Later, the delegation visited the National Chamber of Commerce, Agra, where they held a two-hour meeting with prominent members of the Sarafa Association Agra.

A key outcome of the meeting was the Sarafa Association Agra’s request for export awareness seminars to be organised in the near future. The association also urged the team to explore the possibility of obtaining a Geographical Indication (GI) tag for Agra’s renowned silver anklets.
