Jewellery brands exhibiting at London Fashion Week will benefit from increased exposure after the British Fashion Council (BFC) announced that it will be open to the public for the first time.

The move marks the first time one of the four global fashion weeks has opened its doors to the public.

Dedicated experiences will be offered both to the traditional trade audience and to the public, with the BFC saying that the decision to open up the event “further blurs the lines of what was traditionally known as a global trade platform”.

The trade and press will, as always, be able to attend scheduled catwalk shows and presentations routinely across the 5 days of London Fashion Week, while the doors will be opened to paying public guests on the weekend – giving the jewellery brands exhibiting at the show the opportunity to engage with consumers.

The public will be able to purchase a ticket to an ‘immersive’ London Fashion Week experience, including a selection of designers that will showcase six ticketed catwalk shows on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September 2019.

The public will also have access to creative installations, industry-led talk panels from experts offering unparalleled insights to the fashion industry, the DiscoveryLAB, an experiential space where fashion meets art, technology and music, and a brand new Designer Exhibition focusing on sustainability, community and ethics.

In addition to events within the London Fashion Week hub, several events across the city – curated by the BFC in partnership with key retailers, cultural institutions, brands and partners – will take place to further widen the event’s audience.

London fashion week takes place from Friday 13th to Tuesday 17th September and a provisional schedule is attached here.
